PresentationImmersion Session: Creating a new banknote series - A partnership approach
When Norges Bank set out to create the new note series, it was clear to the bank that they wanted to establish a partnership with a capable supplier to tackle the challenges ahead. To work well, partnerships need to be well organized and managed, with clear responsibilities in the different project phases. This immersion session discusses how a central bank and printer can organise a cooperation to work their way through the various phases of the project based on the experiences from Norges Bank and its chosen partner Oberthur Fiduciaire. It also sheds light on the difficulties that had to be overcome, and gives a first-hand account of the new note series project. Ample time for discussions with the audience will be available. This immersion session is designed for executives dealing with new banknote series, and could serve as blueprint to other central banks for similar projects.
