Biography
Grazyna Rafalska has gathered almost 20 years of experience in the security printing industry working for Polish Security Printing Works (PWPW). A printing engineer also holding an executive MBA, her entire career has been dedicated to the selling & marketing of security documents, printed materials and banknotes. For over 10 years, she has been creating, developing and managing the PWPW export sales, cooperating directly with clients from Europe, Latin America and Asia. She was responsible for launching export projects at PWPW. Her knowledge of the product functions and technology helps her to advise clients optimally and deliver top-quality, tailor-made products. Grazyna is currently Head of Product Management & Sales Support at PWPW. Her role is to understand the customer and market needs, to focus on new products and services and to steer R&D activities and implement new strategies for PWPW product & services development.About the company

Various approaches to banknote design – case studies on circulation, commemorative and house notesThere are different reasons for creating a new or upgrading an existing banknote design – sometimes it is to test a new substrate or security features, in other cases, the designer’s goal is to commemorate important events or outstanding individuals and their role in the history of the country and its citizens, or it can be the development of the functionality of banknotes in circulation. The key cause always defines the process of banknote design that should be adopted. This presentation focuses on the various approaches to banknote design with reference to case studies on circulation, commemorative and house notes.
