BiographyMartin has held a number of positions in different areas of the ECB's Directorate Banknotes since 1999, covering inter alia Communication, Issuance & Circulation and Banknote Security matters. He was the Secretary of the Banknote Committee (BANCO) of the European System of Central Banks for several years. Between 1997 and 1999 he worked at the European Commission and was responsible for the co-ordination of information activities on the euro with EU Member States. Before that, he was Secretary General of the Working Group for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME-Union) at the European Parliament. He holds a Master’s Degree in Law from University of Vienna and wrote his thesis about commercial law at Universidad Central de Caracas / Venezuela.

The ECB unveiled the new €100 and €200 banknotes on 17 September 2018. The €100 and €200 banknotes are the last two denominations of the Europa series of euro banknotes. Both high denomination banknotes contain new and innovative security features. This presentation takes a look at the two new denominations and provides details about respective changes.
